About Archaeology Month
Archaeology month is a month long event filled with numerous events celebrating South Carolina’s Archaeology throughout South Carolina and began in 1991. This event takes place around October and EVERYONE is invited to attend. Available programs include: exhibits, demonstrations, tours, lectures, dining, canoe trips, artifact identification, lantern tours, and much, much more on Archaeological and Historic Sites located throughout South Carolina.
This event would not be possible without the help of numerous volunteers and organizations making this event possible. More information will be made available as the event approaches. For further information about South Carolina Archaeology Month or to sponsor an event during the Archaeology Field Day, please contact Nena Powell Rice, Director of Outreach, at (803) 777-8170 or nrice@sc.edu.
